GuidedGroceries ("we", "our", or "us") is a meal planning and grocery list app. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Account information — your email address and display name when you create an account.
- Household data — your household name and any members you invite.
- Pantry and recipe data — items you add to your pantry, recipes you save, and meal plans you create.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data — which features you use and how often (collected via PostHog analytics). This data is not linked to your identity and is used only to improve the app.
- Crash reports — technical error information collected via Sentry when the app crashes. This helps us fix bugs.
Information we do not collect
- We do not collect your location.
- We do not access your contacts or photos unless you explicitly use the barcode scanner or photo import feature.
- We do not sell your data to third parties.
How We Use Your Information
- To operate and maintain your account and household.
- To sync your pantry, meal plans, and grocery lists across devices.
- To send push notifications you have opted into (meal reminders, expiry alerts, shopping day reminders).
- To improve the app through aggregated, anonymized usage analytics.
- To fix bugs using crash report data.
Data Storage
Your account and app data is stored securely using Supabase, hosted on AWS infrastructure in the United States. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.

Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account directly in the app (Profile → Advanced → Delete Account) or by contacting us at privacy@guidedgroceries.com. Account deletion permanently removes your personal information. Your email address is replaced with an anonymized placeholder within the system within 30 days.
Children's Privacy
GuidedGroceries is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your account and data.
- Opt out of analytics tracking.
